Best Uses of Technology

The web site I chose is school.net

The reason that I chose this site was because I feel that it is very useful to teachers.  The site
has links to other web pages that provide teachers with lesson plans, discipline tips, as well as
providing extra lesson ideas and the places to get ideas.  You can choose the information that you
wish to receive and click on that link.  Then you will go to sites that contain hundreds of lesson plans that you can use.  You can also read other teachers ideas about solving discipline problems.  This site is useful for students, teachers, and parents to find helpful information.  I t allows the student to get help with their homework.  This site contains information on topics information that is relative to today's history.
Audience: All students, teachers, and parents
Subject area: all subjects

Strengths
This site is great when a teacher is in a hurry and needs to find a quick lesson.  It is also handy because it gives ideas to do with your class when you have extra time and have nothing planned.  This site also provides college preparation information.  This allows students to get information on evaluating colleges and the application process.  There is also a forum that allows students and their parents to discuss college questions with other people.  For parents this site provides computer advise for choosing computer games for children.  This site provides games and activities in many different subject areas so students can practice their work on line.
Weaknesses
The only negative aspect of this page that I can see is that a teacher will come to rely completely on these lesson plans and no longer create their own lessons.

Classroom applications:  The teacher can allow the students to play the games and activities on the computer.  This can be the activity that they go to when they have competed all their class work.  The teacher can also use lesson plans that she has obtained from the site in the classroom.
