The story of the Allagash four is one that has been depicted on various alien abduction programs and the “Unsolved Mysteries” television series. It is a fairly famous abduction case in abduction circles.

The incident takes place on Eagle Lake along the Alagash Waterway in the mountains of Maine. Four close friends decide to take a camping trip as a relaxing get away from their normal lives. The men decide to go fishing one night and end up seeing a strange object in the sky. The object ends up making contact with them and a subsequent abduction takes place.

In this story, along with most others, the idea of “lost time” takes place. The men had built a very large bonfire on the shore so they could find their way back to their camp. This fire should have taken several hours for it to burn down to its smoldering ashes, but according to the men, only a few hours had passed since they had built it. That’s where lost time comes into play. There are always hours that can’t be remembered when abductions occur.

Now….Whether this story is valid or not. Since there were not a multitude of eyewitnesses involved, the character of the four men is taken into account. These men were well respected by all who knew them. They had no reason whatsoever to lie or make up such a story. All four were given lie detector and psychiatric tests when they came out with their story, and all four were found to be of sane mind and body.

As for physical evidence, there was none besides nightmares that all four men shared. These nightmares were frighteningly similar. Each one recalled the same terrifying procedure that was conducted on them by these strange beings. Each one described the strange beings the same way, with only minor inconsistencies.

This story can only be taken with a grain of sand, just like any other abduction story. It sounds as plausible as all the others before it, and all those that are yet to come. The validity of this story is in the eye of the beholder.
