Dr. Robert Jackson: (Camera 2) Thank you. Welcome back to the show. There is a widespread belief that alien beings have traveled to earth from some other planet and are doing reproductive experiments on a chosen few. Despite the incredible nature of this belief and a lack of credible supportive evidence, a cult has grown up around it. According to a Gallup poll done at the end of the twentieth century, about one-third of Americans believe aliens have visited us, an increase of 5% over the previous decade.
Alien abductions, which are sometimes referred to as "close encounters of the fourth kind," form an additional category of incidents. Here witnesses claim they had very close contact with, or were abducted by, the occupants of UFOs. Which brings us to tonight’s story. It takes place some 30 years ago in a town in Mississippi. Two individuals went on one of the most memorable rides of their lives…….

Jackson: (Camera 2) With us tonight is Calvin Parker. He was only 19 when this extraordinary event took place. Calvin. Thanks for coming here tonight.
Calvin Parker: (Camera 1) It’s my pleasure Dr. Jackson.
Jackson: So you were only 19. Wow….Take us through that night if you could.
Parker: (Camera 3) Well. My friend, Charles Hickson, and I were camping near the Pascagoula River on October 11, 1973. It was around 9:00 PM and we were finishing up fishing for the day. We were putting away our tackle and bait and just making chit-chat when we suddenly heard this loud type of buzzing behind us.
Not knowing what could be making that noise we turned around towards the shore and there was this large egg-shaped object with this weird bluish lighting on the front of it. It was just hovering there. About a few feet from the ground (motions the relative height off the studio floor). Needless to say, we were shocked to see this object a mere 30 feet from where we were on the river.
The next thing we knew, this door seems to open up on the side of it. There was this weird sorta whitish light coming from inside of the craft. Before we knew it, we saw three figures appear in this doorway. The last thing I remembered before fainting was that these creatures were floating down and over the river. They had legs, but they didn’t use them. They floated towards us.
Jackson: (Camera 1) And that’s the last thing you remembered before
you fainted? These beings appeared in the doorway and started to come towards
you and your friend?
Parker: That’s right.
Jackson: Whatever happened to your friend?
Parker: (Camera 3) From what he told me later, after I fainted, these beings came up to our boat and two of them grabbed him, while the third grabbed me and took us aboard the craft. He said that as soon as the beings grabbed him, he felt this numbing sensation over his whole body.
Jackson: (Camera 1) What exactly happened when you two were brought about the craft?
Parker: Again, I can’t speak for myself. I’ve tried to undergo hypnosis to recover those lost memories, but every time I try I became so frightened that the session would have to be aborted for my own safety.
Jackson: Then what happened to your friend?
Parker: (Camera 3) Through hypnosis sessions, he recalls being taken aboard this craft and having some sort of “eye-like” device examine him while he floated there, unable to move. After that was done, the beings and the “eye” left the room to, what my friend believes, examine me.
About 20 minutes or so after we spotted the craft, the whole ordeal was over with. The beings floated my friend back outside where I already was. A couple of minutes later the craft rose straight up into the air and disappeared.
Jackson: (Camera 2) As amazing a story as that is, you know there are people out there right now who think that this never happened and that you made all of this up or that you just imagined the whole thing. What would you like to say to those people out there?
Parker: (Camera 3) What would I like to say to those people? I really don’t care if they believe me one way or the other. I know what happened 30 years ago. My friend knows what happened 30 years ago. Do I wish that this didn’t happen? Hell yes I wish this didn’t happen. I wish I could go on throughout life believing that this sort of thing never happens. But do you know what? It does, ‘cause it happened to me.
Plus, I’ve taken lie detector after lie detector after lie detector and I’ve passed all of them. I’ve gone through psychoanalysis by many of the best doctors and professionals in this country and around the world. I’ve been questioned by official after official. Military and non-military. They all have come to the same conclusion. Something happened that night that was not of this world. But you all can take that for what it’s worth. I know what happened, and that’s good enough for me.
Jackson: (Camera 1) And that’s good enough for me too. Thanks for coming on tonight. I really appreciate it.
