Welcome
to the Woods Street Journal!

Hey
guys! Thank you so much for reading my
storybook. I decided to write my stories about Aesop's fables. I really
enjoyed
reading these fables when I was younger, and I still love them. Even
though
many people believe that Aesop's fables are children's stories that is
a myth.
Aesop wrote adult's fables, and some of them had strong sexual themes.
He would
always give examples of what to do or what to avoid doing in certain
situations. His stories are unique because at the end of each fable
there is
moral that gives the readers some advice. Unfortunately, not all of his
stories
were preserved, and only about 600 fables survived over the centuries.
I would
love to share with you all of Aesop's stories. However, I will have to
pick
four of my favourite fables to re-tell. Even if picking them out was a
hard decision, I came down to the four stories that I thought had a
great moral that everyone could use in their own lives.
Everyone knows that falling in love can be painful especially when you
are not
compatible with that person. One story I will share with you guys is
"The
Lion In Love". Unfortunately, the king of the jungle
fell in love with the wrong person, and he is going to learn an
important
lesson from it.
Another story that I want to share is "The
Tortoise and The Hare".
This is definitely one of my favourite fables. I first read it in
elemetary school, and it definitely stuck with me until this day. The
slow tortoise
challenges the
fast hare in a race. You will learn that laziness is not a good value
to have
in life.
The
third story that I will share with you guys is "The Cat, the
Mouse, and the Oath." I chose this one fable because I thought that
it has a really good moral. In this story, the mouse makes an oath to
the cat, but never follows through.
The
fourth, and last story of my storybook is "The
Fox, The
Donkey, and The Lion". I never read this fable before, but its
moral is so good that I really wanted to share it with you guys! The
fox was good buddies with the donkey, and they were going hunting
together. One day, the fox decided to offer her friend to the lion. The
lion outsmarted the fox, and he first captured her, and then he moved
on to the donkey. This fable portrays how easily one can be selfish,
but he can lose everything because of that.
My frametale is going to have four different stories and they will be
journal
articles written for the animals in the woods. However, these articles
will be
written in a modern way that will appeal to the readers of "The Woods
Street Journal". The characters are going to be modern animals driving
around the woods and drinking Starbucks. They will also go to the
movies, and
lay out at the pool. Anything that you thought an animal cannot do in
real
life, it will be doing in my stories. Every story will have a different
subject like sports, music, and even books. I tried to make these
stories as entertaining as possible, and I hope everyone will enjoy
reading them.
I will now introduce to you Mr. Duck, the writer of our news column. He
has a
very good reputation in the Woods. All animals respect him, and read
his column
every day. He always gets the latest news on the important animal
celebrities
because he has so many contacts. I am very sure you will enjoy reading
his
column as well. Thanks again for reading my storybook. Welcome to the
Woods!
