About Me
I am 24-years-old and live in Oklahoma City with my husband (of four
years), our son Daylin who is three, and our daughter, Mikayla, who
will be a year on 1 May. My husband and I
were best friends and when he graduated college and left for the Air
Force, the distance made us realize that we were more than
friends. We were married 5 months later only to find out 6 weeks
after that that we were expecting Daylin. He was born a month
after we moved to Tinker exactly 9 mths and 2 days after we were
married-our little honeymoon baby. We just had our third
child, a boy, in June and are excited about our new addition. We have a
mini
named Gomer, who is not even 10 lbs, and a little Chi-weenie puppy
named Max.
We are originally from North Carolina,
where we grew up in the middle of the state in the
Greensboro-Winston-Salem area (near Wake Forest University and North
Carolina A&T if you are familiar). We miss the East Coast but
are settling in OK for now.
I enjoy the days of being a stay-at-home mom, when I am not in
school. My days are never boring and I enjoy spending time with
my kids as much as possible. I am a sociology major and plan to
continue to stay home with our children until they reach school age,
then would like to pursue a Master's in either Sociology or
Educational Studies. I wish to teach in the community about
racism and
inequality to raise awareness or take part in local politics and help
to improve education for all.
In my spare time I like to read, watch movies, see new places, learn
things from any source, and just play games with family and
friends. I love being a military wife and am proud of my husband
for his service. I love sports, especially camping, fishing,
basketball, baseball, and field sports like ultimate Frisbee (my
favorite to play!). I also love swimming and weightlifting and
hope to one day become a runner.
Interesting thing about me- I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints (I'm Mormon) and very active in the church (my
husband is also). I haven't been a member all my life (I was
baptist) but later converted. I am so grateful that I chose to do
so too. It is a great blessing in my life.
I like to think of myself as fairly dynamic because of my political
(democrat) and
religious beliefs and because my husband and I are an interracial
couple.
