Web Design
Understanding the basics of Web Design and Search Engine Optimization
Web Site Design is defined as the arrangement and creation of web pages that together make up a web site. Web design is the design of web pages, web sites, and web applications using HTML, CSS, images and other media.
The first web designer (Tim Berners-Lee) and the inventor of the World Wide Web was originated in August of 1991. Since then , several innovations in the technology has changed the way web sites are built. Macromedia Flash (now Adobe Flash) gave new power to designers and media creators offering new interactive features to users often at the expense of partial search engine optimization and browser functions available to HTML.
Most commercial web site clients expect their web site designer to validate the site with quality content wanted by the general public, make it easy to use with simple navigation, a professional appearance on all pages with nice aesthetics and style, and to be visible on the internet (this is done through search engine optimization.) Because many talented web designers have their strongest skills in graphic design, many commercial clients will consult with Search Engine Optimization Consultants (SEO's) for how well the web site is going to work technically and textually.. SEO's will analyze how much traffic the site will generate via search engines and how many sales it makes, assuming looks don't contribute to the sales. Many web site designers and SEO's are at odds on what's most important in the design with designers wanting more eye catching colored graphics and SEO's wanting text links, lots of keyword text, and bullet lists.
So, if you are building a business and looking into Web Designers make sure and do a through job of understanding the importance of both aspects of a great Web Site.
