Web Directories

Can web directories really help your web site's search engine ranking?

If you have your own blog or web site, chances are you have looked into ways to attract more visitors. As you probably already know, one of the best ways to do this is by achieving high rankings for keywords related to your web site in Google and the other major search engines. In order to do this, you need to obtain quality inbound links to your blog or web site. In the past, one of the best ways to do this was by submitting to web directories. However, over the past year, many people have started saying that links from web directories have no real value.

From my own experiences and research, I can confidently say that links from quality web directories like the Alive Web Directory carry a lot of value and can significantly improve your web site's search engine rankings. The problem is, web masters are creating thousands of directories without putting in the time that it takes to make a strong, respectable directory. It is true that these directories carry no real value, but to say that directories like the Premium Paid Web Directory have no value is absurd! Even if a directory is fairly new, like the Big Web Links Directory, it can still carry significant value. They key to finding quality web directories is doing a little research on what their owner's are doing. No matter how young they are, if you can tell that their owner's are working on a regular basis to promote and build the directory, it is well worth the small investment of your time and money to submit your blog or web site to that directory.
