Books:
Myths from Mesopotamia:
Creation, The Flood, Gilgamesh, and Others.
Translated with an Introduction and Notes by Stephanie Dalley.
New York: Oxford
University
Press, 1989. Page #'s: 228-277.
Details:
All the above sources were used in pretty much the same way: gathering
of background information for the story and characters.
The greatest changes I made to the original myth of Tiamat are thus:
Apsu is Tiamat's son instead of husband
Mummu is now Apsu's brother instead of son
Ea only puts Apsu and Mummu to sleep instead of killing them
Hubur is shown as Tiamat's daughter instead of Tiamat herself
Marduk does not kill Hubur in the end
Complete original myth can be found on the Author's Note link on the
story's webpage.
