Chapter Seven: Inca Creation
Web Screen Shot From : Mythic
Journeys
Author's Note and Prologue:
________________________________________________________________
Well, we find
ourselves in the last chapter in the Book of Legends. A frametale
created to tell the story about a protagonist named Poppy Sage. Poppy,
for those of you just tuning in, is a curious lass who has set out to
master the Book of Legends. If she makes it through each of the seven
chapters before being captured and quite possibly eaten by the
Groosnakewifflewash, the Guardian of the Book, she will have worldly
knowledge and fabulous riches bestowed upon her.
I have included my last and final doctored screen shot from Mythic
Journeys. I altered the story by referencing a baking theme and a few
of the past stories. I mainly used the elements from two sites,
there are four in all that I used parts of. I used Mythic Journeys
and Encyclopedia Mythica to try to tell a story and provide
accurate names. There were various versions of the story of Inca
creation that I had read, so I used the other two sites to just add a
few elements. I
think some of the confusion lies in that there are pre-Inca gods that
have been assimilated into the myth and folklore of these peoples.
There is a reference to a flood
story
but there are no on-line texts that talk about it, so I left it out. In
this version the creators are going for the perfect human recipe.
P.S. The Egyptian Story gives the ending
away or as the literary folk prefer, foreshadows.
If you didn't see the updated version, with the now clear as day hints
that were previously embedded, go back and check it out.

A large whack was heard. A few seconds later Poppy was laying on
the surface of her last
and final mission, Chapter Seven. She knew the Groosnakewifflewash was
not too far behind. Its angry roars of frustration could be heard on
the wind, the wretched undulations of a voice so hideous and desperate
were growing hauntingly ever closer.
"Well, Hello!" said astonished voice.
"Oh! Ack, a world of ouch!" said Poppy.
"Why I haven't seen one of your kind in ages!" said the Inca page.
"Well, Hi! I am here. You maybe rusty for lack of conversation, but I
'd like it very much if you would tell me your tale. As you or anyone
with ears, or should I say the ability to hear if you don't have ears,
can plainly hear there is a very angry Groosnakewifflewash on my heels.
I punched him once and I am not entirely sure, but I think I may have
made it worse." Poppy said gingerly.
"Oh, Bah-Wizards! He's such a grump. You seem kind of spritely and I
like that. Tell me what you have learned and then I will begin." mused
the Inca Page.
"Oh, only everything there is to know! Here is the run down, not all
peoples were created in the image of their gods. Nor did all people
spring from the same materials. In the mix mash list of ingredients to
make "Easy Bake" humans we have : clay, a dash of imagination from two
Gods called Tepeu and Gucumatz, a couple of trees, Blood of a dissident
God and more clay, happy tears from the eye of a sun God, and then join
a God and the human gal he created and you get more humans. Mix for
three minutes on high, adding sugar and spice is optional, bake at 98.6
degrees for 280-odd days and viola! You have your very own race of
humans. And
when making up your to do list for humans, don't forget to command:
that they worship 'said creators', that they never forget 'said
creators', that they be the work horses for 'said creators' and finally
that they love 'said creators' for bringing them into existence.
In the event your "Easy Bake" humans do not turn out right, you are
allowed one mulligan. I hear a flood is the preferred method. And I
believe that pretty much covers it." Poppy said exasperated from
rattling off her findings, in only the way she knew how, with much
bemusement.
"Ok, that will do. And here is the final recipe that I have to share,"
said the Inca page.
"In the beginning, the sun god, Inti
dawned over a lake called Titicaca, He was born from Mama
Pancha the Earth. He made the moon ,Mama
Quilla, along with the night sky, the stars and the planets. Mama
Quilla and Inti
ruled over all the heavenly bodies and Earth. One day Inti decided he
needed to have a race of humans. All the gods were doing it, and it
seemed to be working out for them. He was determined to make his race
the best so he would not have to flood them, he was the original being
to "measure twice, and cut once". He used the mountain rock to carve
out his man and woman, he also included some pregnant women for
added insurance of this race. Unfortunately, as so many of his peers
had discovered, this man was quite pathetic in most ways.
Rock-man did not know the ways of the world nor did he understand
how to survive in it. Rather than ask Tepeu and Gucumatz how they made
a perfect creature, so perfect they had to make it less perfect, Inti
decided to let his son, Manco
Capac, and daughter, Mama
Oello, teach them the ways of the world.
Manco Capac taught the men how to cultivate and build, and his wife
taught the women how to weave and cook. Inti
only had a few requests: he wanted his humans be taught to be kind and
fair and that they should worship him for the golden rays of light he
promised to give in return for their righteousness and that they were
to never
forget who made them.
Manco
Capac and his sister-wife, Mama
Oello, ruled the first humans. The first step to making the perfect
village was to find the right place. Manco
Capac and Mama
Oello
wandered the Earth and embedded their father's golden rods in the
Earth.
If a golden rod were to sink into the Earth then this site was to be
their new home. If the rod stood as a marker instead of sinking, they
were to build a holy temple where it stood. It was in Huanacauri
that one of the golden rods sank. Manco
Capac
gathered people from the north and his wife gathered people from the
south. Both husband and wife praised the Sun God and taught people
about the laws of their father, Inti.
The north and south division also set up the way Inca cities were
developed. Northern halves to represented the male force in life,
and the Southern halves represented the female forces of life."
"Well, I have heard it all then. What is this? Could it be? Is this the
Groosnakewifflewash?" asked Poppy. She saw the yellow almond-shaped
eyes appear and heard the rattling of its scales.
"Yes, Yes, Yes-s-s-s. Come now give us a kiss, kiss, kiss-s-s-s"
it hissed at her.
"Oh, yeah, gag me why don't you!" Poppy grimaced, "You know, I have a
pretty wicked-hard kick in addition to being able to punch like a prize
fighter!"
"You are the first to finish the Book. If you want your reward you must
kiss the Groosnakewifflewash." said the Inca page.
"Oh, Holy Hell!... Yuck!... Really?! ....NO!?.... Really!?...
Yuck?!.... For Pete's sake, he tried to eat me!" Poppy exclaimed.
"Trust me, you want to." the Inca page reassured.
The Groosnakewifflewash puckered up and Poppy squimishly inched up to
its scaly mouth. "Go to my happy place, Go to my happy place, Must go
to my happy place!" Poppy thought over and over again until she
pictured herself in a mound of money, which was surrounded by other
mounds of treasure and more money. She pictured a tower where she kept
her money and dreamed of opening the vault and doing cannon balls into
her sea of riches. Then she nixed the thought of cannon balling after
she visualized herself being jabbed in the bum by a sparking crown of
diamonds and landing very hard on her coinage. She then opened one eye
and there stood a gorgeous man with
yellow almond-shaped eyes, and of course he was a prince with riches.
Shortly after signing a contract with Poppy, which gave Poppy all of
his holdings even if things didn't work out, after all she was
enlighten now to the ways of the world, the Prince told Poppy of why
she had made it when no one else did. Yes, he chased her. He was
cursed long ago to chase and kill until someone completed the Book of
Legends.
But the reason she won and others lost was that it all boiled
down to a) she was cute b) as he put it "I didn't want to end up
with a dude" and c) she was ballsy and threw a hell of a good
punch. The Prince, named Groo, was very good looking and easy on
the eyes. He also seemed older and wiser, he had that sexy older man
thing going for him. Poppy decided to say, "Eh, why not?" and made a go
of it. No one knows what happend after that because they seemed
to be smitten and not a word was heard since from either two.
The Book of Legends can now be found, well, right here at this website.
The last words it was heard to remark was when the Egyptian Page
commented
to the Maori Page, "Oh, those crazy kids!"
The Anticlimactic End
