Rybczynski Response

Main Ideas

I don’t know why, but I had a harder time understanding this article, so
the main ideas may not be correct.  From what I understood of this article,
it is about technology, how it came about (kind of like the question of
which came first), and how society affects technology.

Gut Reaction

Again, I don’t know why, but I had a difficult time reading this article.
I’ve reread it a few times, and I don’t see the importance of it.  Give me a
couple of days of looking over it, and then it would probably come to me,
but for right now, I don’t have a lot to say about this article.  I am also
missing some of the article, and I can’t seem to be able to get them.  The
document printed out  pages 103-107, then skipped to page 111.  I did
noticed that the article mentioned the fact that just because a technology
is created, doesn’t mean it is going to be used right away.  I can see this
happening in schools for a variety of reasons, mainly being the costs and
not knowing about the product.

Questions

1. What is the main idea(s) of the article?  (I’m still needing help)

2.  What are some other examples of technology being developed, but not used
right away?
