We drove up to the very north tip of Israel to stay at a Kibbutz. Some Kibbutzim these days have an industry or service that supports agriculture. At Kfar Blum, they have a few interests, they run the local schools, they have a theater hall, and they have a hotel running, in which we stayed for two days. The hotel itself was very nice, but I enjoyed the atmosphere of the Kibbutz the most. The place was absolutely alive, very different in a subtle way. This picture is of clouds coming over the ridge that separates Israel from Lebanon. In fact you can see the lights of the northernmost kibbutz up there on the mountain. This picture did not come out nearly as well as it should have, and I cannot begin to describe the absolute beauty of that place, watching the clouds push up over the ridge, just after the sun set. I was overtaken by the sense of peace of the place, totally against my expectations. Just wonderful.
