Alright, there is way too much information about this for me to write, so I'll summarize. This is the main floor of what used to be the main synagogue in one of the main towns of Judea. All of the tiles are tiny, quarter inch things, and you can see a large part of them are gone, but much remains. The story behind the layout is fantastic, the outer (lower and far upper) panels represent biblical stories, and the center is a giant zodiac, not very Jewish, I know, but it was representative of the cultural convergence of the time. My favorite panel is the bottom right one, you see the palm tree and the two black dots. This is a panel representing Abraham and Isaac up on Mount Moriah, the black dots are actually upside-down shoes, representing them taking off their shoes to go to a holy place. I just thought that was the coolest thing. The stone pedestals on the top right were the column supports for the building.
