At the time, I was quite angry, er, I mean, disgruntled (you're not supposed to get angry on Shabbat), at our staffer walking so confidently up front. What was supposed to be a 15 minute walk to services became an hour and a half walking tour of Jerusalem, not a problem for me because I wore my sneakers just in case. I truly felt for the ladies, though, some of whom wore very nice (and therefore unbelievably uncomfortable) shoes. I even offered to carry one lady back, but she declined. Now, I'm glad we did it. I got to see so much of the city that I otherwise would not have known about, and I was comfortable, happy and satisfied, so I had nothing to lose. Here we are walking though a park.
