Independence hall from the outside. I had no idea what we were going to, or the importance, and was totally shocked by what I saw inside. This is one activity I don't usually relate to people, when they ask me about my trip, mostly because I could not hope to convey the profound nature of the experience of being at the place where after 1,878 years the Jews declared their own state again. I can only look at other people on the trip with me and know they know about it too. They chose this building because its solid construction would withstand a shelling, should anyone find out.
