And here it is! This is a Roman aqueduct dating back roughly 2000 years. An interesting introduction to Israel, I'm sure they did it mostly for the history, but the importance of water management problems dates back all the way, apparently. This is a very large structure, the arches are about seven feet tall, and you can see it stretches into the distance. A serious amount of work must have been required to accomplish this. And I was there, and I touched it. I ran barefoot on an Israeli beach, on the Med, next to a two thousand year old Roman aqueduct. And this was all in the first two hours I was there...
