Welcome to the home of a Druze family in Daliat a Carmel, a Druze village on a mountain (I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess Mt. Carmel). The Druze were a secret religion for centuries, they believe their origin was with Jethro rather than Abraham, so they consider themselves to be closely related to Judaism. Though Arab, they are loyal to the Israeli government and even fight in the military. We were treated to lunch in the home of a Druze family, a vegetarian meal, all very very good and surprisingly satisfying. We all sat and listened to a gentleman talk a bit about the religion, very informative yet necessarily vague on certain points, of course. There are still parts of the Druze religion not openly known.
