Ever since junior high school, community service has been a big part of my life. I have always made serving others, whether in the classoom, at work, or at home, a priority. My experience with volunteer work has greatly influenced my decision to enter the teaching profession.

Below are a few organizations and event I have participated in.

Head Start

Head Start

Head Start is a program for early childhood children. It provides a rich learning environment for children of financially less fortunate families. Head Start allows children to overcome hurdles that are often associated with low income households.

OU Volunteer Office

Volunteer Programs

The University of Oklahoma Volunteer Office, located in the Oklahoma Memorial Union, is a valuable resource for campus organizations and student volunteers. It provides a connection between all of the surrounding volunteer agencies and campus faculty and students. The Volunteer Office also creates and implements various seasonal programs throughout the year.

Dance Marathon

Dance Marathon

Dance Marathon is a fundraiser for cancer research. All of the money raised stays in Oklahoma and benefits Oklahomans in need. Organizations that receive the money raised include Children's Miracle Network, Children's Medical Research Institute, and Camp Cavett.

Key Club

Key Club

Key Club is the high school branch of the Kiwanis Club. Its main focus is community service. It fosters generosity, resposibility, leadership, and fellowship among its members through the many programs and events it hold.
