for the next two parts as well. This week, you will discover Hanuman's
loyalty and devotion. Hanuman does everything he can for everyone. He

his actions to help those in need.
"Well, my journey to Medicine Hill was vital to Ravana's defeat. Even
more importantly, it was needed to save the lives of Rama and the
others. On the day of the battle the fighting was intense. It had
lasted for some time and we knew we were about to defeat Ravana and his
army. Suddenly out of nowhere we were attacked. We were unaware of the
attack because the attacker was invisible. Later I found out that the
attacker was Ravana's son Indrajit. He had been granted two boons from
Brahma, one of which enabled him to be invisible. His attack killed
Sugriva, Angada, Nala, Rama and Lakshmana. I was injured, along with
Vibhishana and Jambavan. I do not remember the attack specifically
because it happened so fast. I do remember waking up to Vibhishana
shaking me and screaming my name. As I was waking up, I noticed
Jambavan looking over Vibhishana's shoulder. When I fully woke up, they
explained to me what had happened. When I learned that Rama and the
others had died, I was heartbroken. I had not protected Rama and the
others. Then Jambavan explained to me that I could help return Rama and
the others to life. Jambavan had lots of knowledge about herbs and
medicines. He instructed me on the herbs and medicines that were
needed. When I understood the task at hand I sped from the shores
of Lanka and flew to Medicine Hill."
"It was a beautiful place located deep in the Himalaya Mountains. It
was a hill surrounded by some of the tallest mountains. Medicine Hill
is exactly what the names says, full of medicinal herbs. This place had
every herb imaginable- so many that when I arrived and began looking
for the herbs that Jambavan described I was completely lost. Jambavan
had given good descriptions of the herbs needed but there were so many
that fit his descriptions. I searched the entire hill several times and
realized that I was wasting time. I then looked to the sky for
guidance. Suddenly the ground shook violently. I realized then what I
had to do."
"I quickly dug a circle around the hill. This
loosened the mountain enough for me to grab it on one side and prop it
up with a rock. I did the same thing to the other side. With the hill
elevated, I crawled underneath and lifted upwards with all my strength.
I tried several times before the hill even budged. This completely
exhausted me and I began to doubt wether I would be able to return in
time to save Rama and the others. When I thought about how he might be
gone forever unless I brought this hill to Lanka, I was revitalized. I
quickly lifted the hill and began my flight back to Lanka. On my
journey back I was traveling so fast that the hill began to smoke. The
last thing I needed was for Medicine Hill to catch on fire. Well, it
did right as I was approaching Lanka. Then I was faced with another
problem. Carrying the hill created so much momentum that I was unable
to stop. I flew over Lanka with the flaming hill. When I finally
landed, Rama and the others were alive and ran towards me with gracious
hugs. As the flaming mountain passed over Rama and the others, the
herbs revived them all. I knew I had accomplished my mission. I had
saved their lives. I had brought all of them back to life to finish the
battle with Ravana and rescue Sita. This was one of the happiest events
of my life."
Hanuman took on what
would normally be considered an impossible task and accomplished it.
But the amazing thing is that he did it for others, never himself. He
act for the greater good of everyone. Hopefully this story will inspire
readers to focus more on others. Hanuman followers will be worshipping
the temples throughout India and the world during Hanuman Jayanti,
praying to the god to inspire them with selflessness and devotion in
their own lives.
Author's Note: In this adventure I tried to keep it simple. I didn't go
into much detail about the actual events. I tried to show the
characteristics of Hanuman. I also wanted to connect this with the
festival and the importance of Hanuman to many followers. I think it
was important to stick to the basic events of the story. This allowed
the real story to be retold by Hanuman and let the reader develop their
own opinions about the adventure to Medicine Hill. I really tried to
exemplify the characteristics that are discussed in the introduction. I
really like using Hanuman as the narrator for his adventures. I think
this makes the story more realistic for the reader, which increases the
impact of the story. I really enjoy retelling the adventures of
Hanuman. This story in particular is not as exciting as some of his
adventures, but as I said, it does show his great personality. I wanted
the reader to see the real Hanuman. My storybook has been a work in
progress. Every time I work on it I change something, as I'm sure I
will with this story. I like the short introduction and conclusion from
the reporter. This frametale simply connects all the stories together.
