The topic that I have
chosen is Urban Legends and
Horrors. I thought that this storybook would be perfect for
the fall session, especially since Halloween is part of this
semester. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. The
weather is just right to go outside and tell "camp fire" stories.
I wanted my storybook to have the "camp fire" feel to
it. However, each story takes place in the same
house. The house is old and enriched by evil spirits.
In the stories that I recreated, I wanted the reader to know if
the stories were true or false. At the end of each story I
revealed the authenticity of the story. In all of the responses
that I received, the readers enjoyed this the most. I chose the
stories that were very shocking to find out that they were true.
In my research, I was shocked to find what stories were true!
The first story in my story book is The Beheaded Lover.
This story sets the description for the house. The thing
that I love most about this story is that anyone who has been in love
can relate to this situation to a degree. In "real world"
relationships jealousy is present. Jealousy is human nature,
however, some people can control their emotions better than
others.
The second story is Bloody Mary,
Hell Mary. Bloody Mary chants are some of the oldest urban
legends around. I wanted to include this story in my storybook,
because as a child I was afraid of the stories that children told about
Bloody Mary. Also, I think that the majority of people have heard
this legend. The story is centered on a group of girls that are
having a slumber party and things go crazy.
A
Halloween Hanging is the third story in my storybook.
I thought this would be a good story to do around Halloween. The
story is created around a group of guys that decide to host a Halloween
party in "the house". You will have to read the story to find out
the ending. The ending is a shocker.
The last story in my storybook is titled The Goat Abuser.
This story is fun in a grouse way. An elderly couple moves in to
"the house" and the man tries to train a goat to be a watch goat.
The training did not go as planned. The elderly man was another
victim of "the house".
Each story is unique, but each story is tied together by "the
house". CAUTION, don't read this stories before bed or in the
dark!
