Rapunzel

Well, here we are again, this time for the final one-on-one date. Marcus will be taking Rapunzel on a date to the exquisite Skyy Bar of the Petroleum Club of Tulsa, for a romantic dinner. Let's check in with them.

(Screen switches to Marcus and Rapunzel. They are overlooking the city of Tulsa from the 16th floor balcony of Skyy Bar. Rapunzel is leaning over the edge, looking outward in deep thought.)

"Rapunzel, is everything okay?" Marcus inquires.

"Yes, everything is great," replies Rapunzel. "Isn't this view spectacular?"

"Oh, it is beautiful. I guess my worrying that you were afraid of heights was a waste of my emotions. You seem to be at perfect ease up here."

"I have actually spent many years of my life from heights this high."

"Oh really? Please go on and share that story with me."

"Okay, well, when I was born my parents were forced to give me to an evil witch who lived next door, because of an unfortunate
deal my father had made with the witch; I don't really know the details. When I was twelve years old the witch locked me up in the top of a tower, because I was too beautiful and apparently she did not want me getting attention. The tower did not have stairs, or a door for that matter. It only had a small window I could look out of," Rapunzel explains.

"Oh my goodness, that sounds terrible," Marcus says. "How did you ever get out?"

"Well, anytime the witch wanted to come up to me, she would have me let down my beautiful golden hair that would reach the ground. She would use it as a rope and climb up the side of the tower. Surprisingly enough, it did not hurt at all. One day, about three years later, I was singing in the tower right when a prince rode by on his horse. He later told me that he stopped and tried to find a door into the tower to meet me, but, of course, he did not find one. Since he could not get in, he decided to find out what was going on, and he was there hiding behind a tree one day when the witch came over. He heard her ask me to let down my hair. He came back the next day, and he asked me to let down my hair. I did not notice a difference in the voice, so I let him up thinking he was the witch. When he got to the top, it frightened me, because I had never seen a man before. But he spoke kindly to me, and I was no longer afraid of him. He told me how he was so touched by my beautiful singing, and how he thought I was very beautiful. He then proposed to me, and I said yes. I knew that I would be happier with him down on the ground, than I would be with the witch still high in the tower. So, we came up with a plan to allow my escape. The prince was to bring a piece of silk with him each time he came to visit, and when we had enough I would use the silk like a ladder so I could get down, much like the witch and the prince used my hair."

"That sounds like a great plan. I can see it worked, since you are here now," mentioned Marcus.

"Well, actually it did not work. You see one day I accidentally mentioned the prince to the evil witch, and she was so angry she grabbed my hair and cut it off. She then took me to a deserted place and left me there alone. The prince told me later, that when he came to the tower that night the witch let down my severed hair, and he climbed up it. When he got to the top, the evil witch was so angry that she threw him out the window. When he hit the ground, he fell into a thorn bush that gouged his eyes out. He then spent years wandering through the woods blind, mourning the assumed death of me. Finally one day he stumbled upon the deserted place where I was living, and he heard me singing. When I saw him, I instantly went to him and cried tears of joy. Then my tears fell onto his eyes, and his sight was magically restored. We then went to his home, and we got married. Unfortunately, we found out a few months later that he already had an infection in his eyes. About ten months after the wedding, he died from the infection. His sister then took over the throne, and I moved on with my life."

"Wow, that is an unforgettable story."

(Camera returns to the host.)

Okay, so a third date is over, and unsurprisingly another incredible story is added to the bunch. This rose ceremony will, without a doubt, be the most dramatic rose ceremony in bachelor history. Stay tuned to find out who Marcus chooses.

Tower

Author's Note: Well, welcome back. I am happy to know that you chose to read my story. I hope you enjoyed Rapunzel's retelling of her life. Again, I tried to create a one-on-one date that mirrored her fairy tale story. I kept the story pretty consistent with the one told by the Brothers Grimm. I did leave out many details about the 'unfortunate deal' that led to Rapunzel being given to the witch as a baby. In the original story, the baby is promised to the witch in return for the father's life. He sneaks into the witch's garden to get some vegetables for his wife, and he gets caught by the witch. He did not think the promise was significant, because he and his wife had been trying for years to have a baby with no success. I also changed the way the prince is thrown out the tower window. In the actual story, he jumps to avoid potential death from the witch. But I did not like that, so I made the witch throw him out of it. I chose a picture of the tower to symbolize Rapunzel's story, and I chose the color scheme to resemble her hair. Stick around to see who Marcus chooses.
