Snow White

Well, welcome back, everyone. It is now time for Marcus's date with Snow White. He is taking her on a romantic picnic in the park. Last we checked, they were setting up their blanket and lunch underneath a huge oak tree. Let's see how things are going now.

(Camera turns to park, and we see Marcus and Snow White sitting on their blanket eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.)

"So, Snow White, why don't you tell me a little more about yourself?" asks Marcus.

"Well, I don't know if there is really anything else to tell you. I think I have told you just about everything," replies Snow White.

"Well, how about the scariest thing that has ever happened to you."

"Okay, well, there was this one time when I was almost killed."

"WHAT?!?! Wow, you have never told me about that. Tell me everything!" exclaims Marcus.

"Okay, well, it all started with my really evil stepmother, who became Queen when she married my father. She was a very proud woman, and she had this magic mirror. When she asked the mirror who the fairest of all was, it would assure her that she was. That is until one day it told her that I was more beautiful. Of course this angered her, so she called upon one of her huntsman to fix it for her. She had the huntsman take me into the forest to kill me. He was supposed to kill me and take my heart back to the Queen as proof."

"Well, seeing as you are still alive, I assume he did not succeed. What happened?" asked Marcus.

"Lucky for me the huntsman had a heart of his own. I always liked walking in the woods, so when he asked me to go for a walk I was thrilled. Unfortunately, when we got far enough into the woods he turned to me with the most horrible of faces. It scared me to death, and then he pulled out his knife. I began to weep, and he decided to let me go only if I promised to never return home. So, I ran and ran until I came across a little cottage in the middle of the woods. I found some food to eat in the kitchen, and then I went into a large bedroom that had seven beds and found one to take a nap in. When I woke up the next morning the seven dwarfs who lived in the cottage were there, and they told me that if I took care of the cottage and did the chores and cooking then I could stay there with them. So each day they would go to work in the mountains mining for precious metals, and I would stay and tend to the cottage."

"Man, that is a crazy story. I am glad you were okay."

"Well, it is not over yet. After a few days, the Queen's mirror told her that I was still the most beautiful, and she realized I was still alive. She tried to have me killed again. First, she disguised herself as an old peddler-woman, and she tried to sell me some exotic silk. As I was trying on some of the material she laced it up so fast and tight that it suffocated me. I passed out and did not wake up until the dwarfs came home and unwrapped the material. Since I didn't die, the Queen only got angrier. So the next time she came disguised as a poor old woman who told me she was selling combs to buy food for her sick baby grandson. She pulled out a poisonous comb, and once she ran it through my hair, I fell to the ground. But lucky for me the dwarfs came home soon and removed the comb, so it did not kill me. So now the Queen was livid, and she came back as another old woman, with a poisonous apple. After I took one bite of the apple, I fell down dead. The dwarfs could do nothing to revive me,but they told me about what happened. They put my body in a hollow glass coffin and put it on top of the mountain. One day a prince came by and saw me in the coffin. He asked the dwarfs if he could have me and the coffin to cherish as his prize possession. They said he could, and as his men were carrying the coffin away one of them tripped over a stump. With the jolt this caused, the piece of apple that was lodged in my throat came out, and I woke up. So I went home with the prince and married him."

"Wow that is quite a story. So what happened to the prince? I mean I am assuming you are not married to him anymore."

"Well, about six months after our wedding, I found him in bed with our maid. So here I am now."

"Dang! Well, I have to say I am glad he is a scumbag, because if he wasn't I would have never met you," replies Marcus, as he kisses Snow White.

(Television returns to narrator.)

Never saw that story coming did you? I know I never did. It looks like Marcus enjoyed the ending though. Coming up next, Marcus takes Rapunzel out.

Posoinous Red Apple

Author's Note: Again, I hope you enjoyed my story. Like the last story, it too was fun to write. I tried to resemble Snow White's story with the date being a picnic in the park. I was trying to imitate the woods, without it being quite as scary and creepy. Much like my previous story, I kept the story as being told from Snow White through dialogue. I think it helps make the story more personal, and it assists in making the date seem more real. I chose the image of a red apple, because it is easily linked to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I also chose the color scheme, because I thought it was a symbol of Snow White. I chose the black background symbolizing the evil in the story, with the white font being a symbol for Snow White's pureness and her name of course. I tried to keep the story consistent with the one told by the Brothers Grimm. In the original story, the Queen died from having to wear red-hot iron slippers, but I omitted the details of her death, because I did not want to draw away from Snow White and her story. Rapunzel is coming up next, and I hope you stick around to see her date with Marcus.
