Introduction:
Mysterious Animals: Werewolves
Inside you will find four very interesting and intriguing stories about
the ancient myths of the Werewolf. There is a story told in the format
of a play. The play is about how Zeus, changed King Lycaon into a
Werewolf. This is about one of the oldest myths around. Another
story is about the Wolf strap. Supposedly, Lucifer gave a man a strap
and he can put it on at any time and change immediately into a
Werewolf.
However, there were some guidelines that had to be followed. You will
have to read the story to find out. The other stories are still
undetermined at this time.
Q. What is a Werewolf?
A. A Werewolf is someone or something that can change its form from a
human being
to
a wolf while keeping the same intelligence.
Q. How can this happen?
A. It is said that it can be from magic, on purpose by the use of a
curse, or by eating human flesh.
Q. Where does the word “Werewolf,” come from?
A. The word can be broken down into “wer” which is translated to “man”
and “wolf” which is translated to “beast.”
Q. Are there any other variations of the word “Werewolf?”
A. Yes, there is the Greek term, which is “Lycanthropy.” This is when a
human being believes he or she is a wolf.
Q. When does the Werewolf change forms?
A. According to the myths this change comes at the time of a full moon.
Q. Can you kill a Werewolf?
A. There have been many myths that say you can kill a Werewolf only by
shooting it with a silver bullet.
Q. Where has the Werewolf been spotted?
A. Over the centuries there have been sightings across the world.
Q. Why did you chose to do your story book about Werewolves?
A. I chose Werewolves because it’s a very interesting topic that holds
my attention. I am amazed at how people can let their minds play tricks
on them so that they actually believe believe that they are seeing an
upright walking wolf that eats
human flesh.
Q. Do you have anything else that you would like to share?
A. I have always thought it was an interesting topic with all the hype
in the movies. Hollywood has done a good job at keeping the myth going
with all the movies that have come out about the Werewolf. One
Werewolf movie that comes to mind is "American Werewolf in Paris." The
movie is about this group of college students that go to Europe looking
for some thrills. One of the guys in the group meets this girl who just
so happens to be a Werewolf and bites him. After being bitten, his dead
friend returns and tries to warn him that he will become a Werewolf. He
spends the rest of his time trying to overcome becoming a Werewolf.
