DECEMBER 26th
Let me tell you the legend about those who give their souls to the
Devil. Once a year, on the day following the birth of Jesus Christ, a
boy with a wooden leg would walk the streets calling out to all those
who belonged to the Devil. The boy was followed by a tall man that
looked as if he should have died ages ago.
As the boy called out the names some of the people would choose to run
or try and refuse to go. This is when the tall man would come in. The
tall
man carried a whip like no other whip you have ever seen. The whip was
laced with chains and barbed wire. Whenever the people would try to
run the tall man would hit them with his whip. You could just see the
flesh coming off of them sticking to the barbed wire. It usually would
only take one strike to convince the people. However, the tall man
enjoyed it and would give it to them a couple more times.
After the boy gathered all of the people, he would lead them out to a
field. It's said that whenever they would come to water that the tall
man would part the water so that their feet could not get wet. Once the
people reached the field where there were plenty of cattle grazing, the
tall man would turn them into Werewolves. They say that you could hear
screaming in the near by towns. The screaming they say was from the
pain and agony that took place during the transformation from a human
being to a Werewolf.
Once everyone was transformed into a Werewolf they would attack the
livestock. The Werewolves were able to eat what ever they wanted as
long as it was not another human being. It has been said that they
would stay transformed for eleven nights and twelve days. After the
twelve days they would wake up in the middle of the woods naked and
cold.
I would like to tell you that they had no recollection of what had
happened to them. However, that would be a false statement. You see, I
know that this is a true story, and not just some myth or legend passed
on over the years. I know this because it has happened to me for the
last thirty five years.
Authors Notes
I chose to tell the story as if I was telling a scary story around the
camp fire. I chose this specific story because its from the Grimm
brothers. As far as the story line, I tried to stay as close as
possible
to the original. I did change up the description of the whip by using
barbed wire. I also
gave a different type of reference about the day this all took place
on. The
ending was my own ending that I chose to add in as a little extra
touch. I think that this is the first story I have read about a
Werewolf that could not eat humans.
