Once upon a time, a pregnant queen was sitting by the window in a winter night. The window was made of black ebony. She was looking out of the window at the snow while she was sewing. She had pricked her finger on a needle. A drop of  her blood fell upon  the snow. She liked the color of  white, red and black be together. She made a wish: "I wish to have a child white as snow, red as blood and black as ebony."
After several months, the queen had a little daughter who was white as snow, red as blood and black as ebony. The queen called her Little Snow White. The queen died after Little Snow White was born.
The King married another woman when Snow White was 7 years old. The woman was very pretty. Everyone thought she was the prettiest women in this country. The new queen had a magical mirror which would tell the truth. The queen asked the magical mirror every day, "Who is the prettiest in the world?" The magical mirror replied with the same answer every time, "You are the prettiest in the world."
Snow White was growing up. She became more and more beautiful. The queen was getting afraid that Snow White would be prettier than her someday, so she did not like Snow White at all. She did not do anything until one day the mirror gave her a new answer when she asked the same question. When Snow White was 10 years old, she became a very pretty girl. The answer that the queen got from the magical mirror changed from that day. The magical started to reply, "Snow White is the prettiest in the world." The queen was shocked. She could not accept this fact, so she ordered a huntsman to bring Snow White to a forest and kill her.
The huntsman did not want to do that, but he could only obey to the queen. When he was about to pierce Snow White's heart, Snow White began to cry and said, "Please don't take my life. I would run away and never go back to the palace again." The huntsman pitied her because of her beauty and innocence and let her run away. He killed a boar and took its heart to the queen as Snow White's heart. The queen ordered a chef to cook the heart for her to eat because she believed that she would be as pretty as Snow White after she ate her heart.
Snow White was so terrified by the dark forest. She hoped to run out of the forest so she kept running until she saw a cottage. She got into the cottage and found no one was there. Everything inside the cottage was very small. She was very hungry and tired. She took some food from each of the plates and slept on the only bed that fitted her size.
The owners of  the cottage, seven dwarfs, came back at the evening. They knew someone had been there since they could tell the things were placed in different order. They saw Snow White was sleeping in one of the beds. They did not wake her up because of her sweetness and beauty.
Snow White apologized to the seven dwarfs for eating their food on the next day. The seven dwarfs agreed to let Snow White to stay in their place if Snow White was willing to take care the housework. Snow White was so glad and thankful to them so she agreed to take the job and stayed with them. They reminded Snow White to be careful since the queen would find out she was there soon.
The queen was so happy because of Snow White's death. She asked the mirror the same question again. However, the mirror said, "Snow White is the prettiest in the world. She is living in the forest." The queen was so angry that she decided to kill Snow White by herself.
She dressed herself as an old woman and she made a poisonous apple. She appeared in front of the cottage and cried, "Very cheap apple." Snow White opened the door and she saw an old woman was holding a basket of very red apples. She was attracted by the apples. The queen offered to let her try the apple before buying it. Snow White never thought the apple could be poisonous so she just bit into it.  She fell down dead immediately. The queen laughed happily and said, "I am now the prettiest in the world."
The seven dwarfs went back home at the evening and they saw Snow White was dead. They were very upset. They made a glass coffin for Snow White and put her into it. They did not want to bury her because she looked like she was just sleeping.
At that time,a prince from another country passed by. He saw Snow White sleeping inside the coffin and he was stunned by her beauty. He opened the cover of the coffin and kissed her. Snow White opened her eyes and woke up in the coffin and looked at the prince and said, "What happened?" The prince said with a smile, "A miracle happened."
The prince asked, "Would you marry me?I loved you at first sight." Snow White smiled and nodded her head.
---------------------------------------------The End---------------------------------------------

I kept my story similar to the original one. I omitted the part of lace and a poisonous comb because I want to keep my story short. The queen tried to use lace and a poisonous comb to kill Snow White before using the poisonous apple in the original story. The most of my story is the same as the original one, but I changed the end of the story. The original story does not have the part of  the prince kissing Snow White but I wanted to make the ending more romantic. Also, I want it to be a story for kids and I want my story to end happily so I  did not mention the part of the queen's death. In the original story, the queen died at the wedding of Snow White and the Prince. She was forced to wear red-hot slippers to dance until she died.
I chose to retell this story because I like this story a lot and also this is a very popular story. I think people will be interested in reading my storybook if I retell some very classical stories. Snow White and the other three heroines I will be including are all very kind girls. She and Cinderella also have their mother dead. Snow White is the only characters who get killed, but she comes back to life. It makes people pity her because of her humble life.
