A Circus Full Of FUN!!!!!!

The students will become emersed in a game of adding and subtracting. The pictures and colors are wonderfuly bright and the text is easy and fun to read.
- Readers are asked to count the number of circus animals on each page. The animals are either added to the page or subracted.
Things that could be done with the book:
- Before reading to the students give them something to count along with such as a handfull of beans. While reading the book ask them to make the mathmatical problem out with the beans. This gives them some hands on visual work that may make it less harder to understand.
For example: In the book ir there are four chickens(beans) on one side of the the wire and four on the other. How many chickens or beans are in all? What if two chickens(beans) fall off the wire?
- After reading the book the students could participate in calkboard races. The teacher places two of the same problems on the board while one student from each team tries to solve it. The first team to finish all of their problems wins!
