I'm a Senior at the University of Oklahoma. The most important thing that I've learned in college is to look at life with an open mind.

I row for the University of Oklahoma, and have since I started college in 2005. It was a spur of the moment decision, so I talked my friend into going to a rowing meeting with me. I was hooked. It has pushed me farther than I would have ever pushed myself, mentally and physically. I followed the team from club, Oklahoma Crew, to Division 1 varsity program, Oklahoma Rowing. I put myself through the pain and soreness of the sport, I wake up at the most ridiculous hours of the morning to practice in the sometimes the most ridiculous temperatures.  And I'm staying an extra year and a half in college because I love it so much. All the sacrifices I make are all made worth it in one race.

I came into college with a set view on how I wanted my future to be, and I've found that there are and will be so many options and so many opportunities that may be better for me. The only way to know for sure is to give them a chance.
