Its Finally Here...

The Oklahoma Sooners will take the field once more and show us what championship football is all about. The OUDL has eagerly awaited the upcoming season, and is looking forward to marching once again to please the fans, drive the band, and cheer on the team. However, Owen field won't be the first stop on the road to Tempe. The Sooners travel to Tulsa this coming Saturday to rock T-Town. The last time these two teams met was last year in Norman where the Sooners ripped the Golden Hurricane 58-0.

This will be the OUDL's first road trip of the year and we are looking forward to performing for the Sooner faithful that make the grueling two-hour drive from Norman. A few of the OUDL members are from the Tulsa area, so it will be special to them to finally bring the show home. For them it will have been one, three, (or in one case five) years since they last marched in Skelly Stadium. It should be a great way to start out a great year.

Note: The OUDL held tryouts last Monday and set the line Tuesday morning. It looks like we are going to have another great year. Grant and Troy are doing a great job, and the line is improving every day. We are marching 8 snares, 4 tenors, 6 basses, 8 cymbals, and 7 front ensemble percussionists. Check back with the website later to catch the personnel of each section. A great big thanks to all of the vets that came back to contribute their talents and leadership, and congratulations to all of the rookies that made line. Rookies, you have begun an experience that you will remember forever; literally hundreds of alumni are counting on you to continue the tradition. Vets, lets make it awesome this year.
