Though a native of Kerala, I was born and brought up in the city of Madras (now known as Chennai). Madras is the capital of Tamil Nadu, a southern state in India and also the neighboring state of Kerala. It is the fourth largest city in India and well known for its traditional culture. Madras also serves as a hub for Industries and commerce. The city is well known for its educational facilities as it houses many of the nation's best institutions. The second longest beach in the world, The 'Marina' is in Madras.
