Tootles: Captain Peter, I just wanted to let you know that we are approaching the island.
Peter: Aye aye, Tootles! Well, everyone, we are about to enter Neverland. I am so excited for all of you to see my glorious home. Now - let’s find Tink, and we can begin our second adventure. There she is in the clearing! Be careful as you enter the little house, and make yourselves at home.
Tink: Hello, little ones! How delightful it is to have you here. You didn’t bring Wendy with you, did you, Peter?
Peter: No, Tink, she sat this one out.
Tink: Wonderful! It’s about time she leaves you alone. I don’t think this island has been the same since you brought her here, Peter. That day was very hectic. It all started when poor Nibs came sprinting through the jungle, because he was being chased by hungry wolves! The Lost Boys had been out searching for Peter, because it had taken longer than expected for him to get back to Neverland. As Nibs was running for his life, he called out to the other Lost Boys to save him. They quickly devised a plan. It was simple – do what their leader, Peter, would do. So, they decided to scare the wolves away by looking like terrifying monsters. They quickly bent over, and looked at the wolves through their legs, and ferociously marched towards them. Victory was bliss, as this action frightened the hairy beasts away!
Tootles: Ha-ha-ha! Those mutts didn’t know what hit them!
Peter: You boys were clever to think like me! I taught you all well. Though, I would have liked to have been there to show them who's boss! No one messes with Peter Pan and his Lost Boys!
Tinker Bell: Yes, Peter, you’re dazzling, but I’m about to get to my favorite part of that crazy day! It happened after the wolves had been scared off, and I had arrived with the Lost Boys first. Then, Wendy came flying overhead, and when the boys saw her, they thought she was a white bird. I noticed that Tootles had a bow and arrow, and I rubbed my hands together with glee. I had a brilliant idea! I cleverly told him that Peter wanted him to shoot her. Peter would be mad at him, instead of me, and I knew that Tootles wouldn’t disobey his leader’s orders. I shouted to him, “Quick, Tootles, shoot her… Peter will be so pleased!” Foolish Tootles obeyed as I’d hoped, and shot Wendy right in the breast. She immediately plummeted to the ground! Ha-ha-ha!
Tootles:
Tink, you
wretched
fairy! I ought to shoot you for
tricking me like that!
Peter: That was very awful of you, Tink!
Poor
Tootles didn’t know any better.
Tink: Get over it, you two. She survived, so you can quit your whining! I must admit that I feel somewhat bad about it now, but it's all in the past. Now - back to the story. I hid before Peter arrived. The Lost Boys then noticed that Wendy wasn’t a bird after all, but a lady. They immediately figured out that what they had done was wrong. Peter had told them before that he would bring a lady to be their mother, and so they figured that this was her. Poor Tootles turned ghost white, and he started to move slowly away. The others felt pity for him, and asked him not to go. They were all afraid of what Peter would do when he found out that Tootles shot her, so they quickly decided to hide her. At that moment, Peter landed. He noticed that something was wrong when the boys were not cheering at his return. The boys were silent, and Peter proceeded to tell them that he had brought them a lady. After he asked if they had seen her, Tootles took a big gulp and decided to come clean. When Peter saw Wendy, he demanded to know who had shot her. Tootles told Peter it was him, and Peter grew furious and tried to strike him. Suddenly, Wendy raised her arm and very quietly whispered, "Poor Tootles." When Peter noticed Wendy was still alive, he immediately rejoiced. It was the kiss Peter had given Wendy that saved her life! I began to cry because Peter cared too much for that dumb Wendy. Unfortunately, the Lost Boys had to tell Peter about my wicked plan, and he screamed at me to leave. He told me that he wouldn’t be my friend anymore! Boo-hoo-hoo...
Peter: Aw… come now, Tink, don't cry! You know I forgave you later. It’s in the past, and you know you’re still my fiery little fairy.
Tink:
Thank you, Peter! Now - let
me end my story. Peter decided that they would all be Wendy’s servants,
even John
and
Michael. John was not happy about that, though. Peter didn’t care, and
made
them all build her this very house. So Wendy recovered, and became the
Lost Boys’ mother. It was a wretched day – well, for me anyways.
Peter: Simply wonderful, Tink! Thank you for
that exciting
story! It's a day I'm sure we won't forget. I also think that it is
time you make friends with Wendy. She's not as bad as you think.
