Scanning and Editing Project |
|
|
| In order to create the cropped
graphic I first used the ruler tool to create a straight line to work from.
After I did this, I used the free rotate tool to set the picture at
a 90 degree angle. Following this, I used the crop tool to eliminate
the black space from the original scanned photo and used the adjust tool
to slightly darken and increase the contrast on the photo. Finally,
after I adjusted the contrast and brightness of the photo, I used the stamp
tool to eliminate some of the marks that were on the original photo. The
last thing I did was use the finder tool to sharpen the image. My favorite
aspect of the photo was the flowers in the front, and I hoped that increasing
the contrast and shading the photo a bit darker would draw attention to
the flowers. |

|
| My primary aim in cropping and
sharpening this picture was to make the little girl the focus of the photo.
The original photo had too much background so the first thing I did
was use the crop tool to crop the photo so that she was in the center of
the picture. I also wanted to eliminate the yellowing the photo had
accumulated since it was taken seventeen years ago, so I adjusted the color
levels of the photo by reducing the yellow tint and slightly increasing the
blue tint. After this, I lightened the photo and increased it's contrast.
Finally, I used the filter tool to sharpen the photo to draw attention
to the subjects brilliantly mismatching outfit:) |
| Photo Manipulation
|
|
|
|
|
| The first thing I did to make the final photo
manipulation was select the magic wand tool and click on the background
surrounding the sundae. After this, I selected select and inverse
which highlighted the sundae and then pressed edit/copy. Following
this, I opened up a new file and clicked transparent on its properties. I
copied the sundae into the new file and then saved this new file. After
I did this, I pasted this new file into the yummy background and highlighted
the background, changing its color to a dark aqua. |

| When I decided to make this photo-manipulation,
I knew I wanted to do something interesting with the lion-witch and wardrobe
clip art. The first thing I did was adjust the contrast, color and
finish of the clip art. After I had adjusted the lion clip art to my
preference, I looked through the clip art for pictures that might work
with this gif and finally found a cream colored dove. I saved the dove
file, opened it and becase I wanted to soften the edges of the dove, I used
the magnetic lasso tool to cut around it. I copied this file onto a
transparent file and saved the new file as a transparent gif. Following
this, I opened up my adjusted lion clip art. I opened the newly saved
transparent dove, highlighted it, adjusted it's size and pressed copy. I
then clicked on my opened lion clip art, and pressed paste. |
