A Very Brief Autobiography
First off, I'm an English major with very little
experience with website design (I've used Google Pages. I don't
think that counts), so apologies if this site is a little clunky for a
bit.
I'm from a small town just west of
Oklahoma City
called Piedmont. When I first moved there, I could say with
complete honesty that we have more cows than people. I'm fairly
certain that that isn't true anymore, but there's still a wheat field
directly behind our house and everyone in my family leaves off the last
syllable in "coyotes". We also have a perennial problem with them
and our dogs howling at each other at strange hours of the night, and
the image to the left is quite similar to a view we get several times
throughout the year only we tend to see them at night.
I loved that aspect of Piedmont, but there were a few others grated on
my nerves. For example, the two newspapers that reported the same
news with different grammatical errors. So I graduated high
school and came to OU knowing that I wanted out, but that I probably wouldn't
be able to handle ridiculously big.
The English major came about because I looked at the list of available
majors and said, ah, that one looks the least likely to make me want to
run in the opposite direction.
It's worked pretty well so far.
Another thing you should know about me is that I'm a
nerd (not the kind with a lot
of tech experience). I spend my non-homework time playing video
games, reading webcomics (they're like comics, but on the internet for
your convenience), and reading anything I can get my hands on.
The only other thing I spend an equivalent amount of my time on is
watching movies. The Internet
Movie Database is vital to my sanity.
Seriously. You have to know how maddening it
is when you can't remember what other movies That Guy has been in.
