Okay, so, most horses ye meet don't speak. Most horses ye meet
aren't knowledgeable world travelers. But most of all, most
horses ye meet aren't as special as young Artagan. Ye see, Artagan
ain't most horses. He's been granted a bit of magic in his
blood. I had the pleasure of knowin' me father until I was
a mare of eighteen. My name is Arabelle and I'll tell ye, my
father was a stallion of great stature! He taught me everything I
know today. He used to tell me stories of old Scotland and his
travels around the world. He had been all over. Any place
ye can dream of, my father had a story from there.
In this tale of a horse and his
travels, you will learn about his
magical abilities that enable him to carry his owner, a wizard, around
the world in order to pick up the ingredients for his potions. On
his travels he meets horses of different cultures and hears stories
from their countries. You might notice that he does a bit of
time-traveling as well. After all, wizards do what they like,
don't they?
When Artagan was just a young lad
of a colt in Scotland, a poor farmer named
Gordan came to his birth and immediately sensed his greatness.
Gordan had a special secret. He was a farmer by day and an
almighty powerful wizard by night. This might explain his ability
to see Artie's extraordinary potential. He
spent the last few pounds he had in his pockets and brought Artie home
and put
him to rest in a warm stall in the barn.
The next morning he came
to the barn to see Artie. He began to cast a magic spell upon the
young colt and speak to him as if he were human. Artie quickly
realized he could speak back to the farmer. Gordan explained to
him that he was a wizard and that he had chosen Artie to guide him
around
the world on his travels. Artie and Gordan talked for hours and
hours that day, learning and getting to know one another. They
instantly had a connection and were the best of friends.
When Artagan had grown a little
bit larger and stronger, Gordan decided he was ready to begin their
journey. Gordan explained to Artie
that the spell he needed to master was one that involved a special
potion. This spell was one that would give him, a very poor
farmer indeed, a field full of plentiful crops all year round.
With this type of spell, Gordan would
never be poor again. He could sell his produce in the local
market.
The ingredients for this special potion came from
all over the world and Gordan had only the change in his pocket for the
two to survive on at the moment. Therefore in order to get his
hands on these
potent ingredients, Gordan must use Artie’s magical powers to fly him
around the world.
The would-be wizard and his horse
will travel to Greece, as well as the Middle East, visiting both
Iran and Saudi Arabia. Come join them in their adventures and let
your imagination fly!
In Story 1, Artie and Gordan fly to Greece to collect tilio leaves for
their potion. There they learn about Pegasus, a horse from
ancient
Greece.
In Story 2, Artie and Gordan travel to Saudi Arabia where they collect
miswak seeds from the toothbrush tree and learn about the story of the
great Al Borak.
In Story 3, Artie and Gordan fly to Iran where they collect the final
ingredient for their potion, a thread from an ancient Persian
rug. There, they hear a story about a wooden horse and a prince
who work together to save a princess.
And the stories began the next morning as Gordan came to Artie’s stall
and began to saddle him
for their travels…
