The Adventures of Silvertooth

Pirate Ship

1836
Welcome to my vessell!  My name is Silvertooth and I am going to tell you stories of some of the greatest pirate legends throughout history.  As the latest member of a 30-man crew, I guess you could say I know the least about what I'm doing out here on the high seas. I don't suppose piracy is normally something one aspires to, but as for me, well, I have longed for the glory and freedom of boundless waters since the days of my youth. My desire for this lifestyle came after a fiersome brawl in my hometown of Leeds, England.  I became known as Silvertooth because silver was the metal I chose to replace the teeth I had lost in the fight.  People started to become more uneasy around me and I could clear a room quicker than any four-legged snake.  I never did have much character to speak of, so, you see, for me, being called a "pirate" never had the kind of negative implication that I suppose it ought to have had. All I know is what I have been told, and what I have been told stirs up an excitement in me that is quite beyond compare.

Sitting here on the deck of The Ominous, this glorious vessel, looking up at the infinite stars that only appear to those who have committed themselves to the solitude of the sea, I am thinking back on all the legacies that have come before my time. So many amazing men have set the standard for this life of discovery, mutiny, greed, and glory, this life I so long to make my own. And, who knows? Maybe some day, when my life as ocean-master has ended, when my time as commander of the waves has ceased, I will have left behind something of my own, a legend to live inside the hearts of those who will follow in my footsteps.

And this is the path I have chosen, these are the men I am striving to become, this is the legacy I am longing to leave...
