Introduction
The realms and very lives of all Gnomes
and Dwarves are under attack
from a foe unseen and unknown. The small inhabitants of the Gnomish and
Dwarfish realms (Gnome & Dwarf regions of various mythological and
folk worlds) have been forced from their homes and
are seeking refuge in the lands of the tall and clumsy . What, you may
ask,
is a Gnome or a Dwarf and why should we
care whether they are in peril or not? Let us start with the droll
creature known as the Gnome; they inhabit wooded areas and mostly make
their homes under the ground. They usually spend their time in equal
measure helping humans in their gardens (this is why statues with their
visage appear in gardens) and causing mischief for travelers in woods.
Dwarfs, on the
other hand, are their cousins, who spend their time toiling away near
furnaces making all sorts of tools and weapons. They make these for
themselves (small Dwarves are known to be fierce and true in the
battlefield) and for humans and gods alike, because Dwarves are widely
known to be the most superior craftsmen. The majority of Dwarves are
good-natured and concern themselves with forging and gold; some Dwarves
are considered "dark," but they are mostly few and far between.
In spite of their prowess and guile, the Gnomes and Dwarves are being
forced out of
their homelands by some unknown malevolent being. What they do
know is that warnings started to appear all around their homes that
they must leave or else dire repercussions would befall them. Shortly
after this, many of the most outspoken little folk among them
disappeared without a trace. Homes and stores were vandalized and many
saw no other option than to move to safer lands. There are few who will
stand against this force of evil, but they are among the most noble and
stout of heart among the Dwarves and Gnomes. These Dwarves plan to turn
and face the villian, at any costs. Among these Gnomes and Dwarves are
the following heroes...

1. Brokk and Eitri are the two greatest Dwarven blacksmiths of the
Norse
lands. The two are responsible for forging many wonderful creations,
most notably the hammer of the Norse god Thor, Mjollnir, a story they
have recounted for you here. These two
brothers are among the bravest in all Scandinavia and they are leading
the
opposition against the nameless force.

2. Only two of seven Dwarves who once inhabited the mountains familiar
to Snow White are left. They are believed to have seen the monster in
their mountains, but they cannot speak of it. They can, however, tell
you about their adventures with the fair
lady Snow White.
3. The Dwarf named Rumpelstiltskin had always been more nefarious
than most of the other Dwarves and Gnomes gathered around the camp
fire. As of late, though, he has become good-hearted and one might even
say heroic. This change occured during his tale
of woe that he has told; and also what he has been up to
since...
