About Me

Currently I am in my fourth year of graduate school working towards a P.h.D in microbiology in Dr. Lee Krumholz's Laboratory. My Current research has moved from studying micro-eukaryotic communities to focusing more on under represented microbial divisions and their response to climate change. As an undergrad I was given the opportunity to work in Dr. Yiqi Luo and Dr. Linda Wallace's lab. Here I was exposed to their ongoing research of how climate change effects natural prairie grass ecosystems. While working in their lab I became interested in Nitrogen cycling and how climate change affects the organisms responsible for the transformation of nitrogen. That fascination has led me to where I am today. Currently I am investigating how climate change effects biodiversity of bacteria and fungi. My work is mainly involved with taking a molecular approach to tease out the unseen populations of microorganisms in soil.
