Improvisation Stuff
Since 1992, I have been in love with improvisation. Going from a lowly goof-off performer at Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive High School, I have now gone to performing everywhere from Toronto to Peterborough to Sri Lanka to South Africa to now Oklahoma. I love all forms of the art, but lean more towards the long form improv that comes out of the Improv Olympic in Chicago. Some of my teachers include great Canadian improvisers such as Herbie Barnes, Steven Sim, Aaron Merke, Glen Mitchell and Alistair Cooke. Here is a brief page highlighting some of my experiences, musings, and thoughts as I continue to perform and coach improv until I die.
Games I Use
Many of you have asked for the games I use when I teach... one day I should write a book. But, until then, here are some alternative games I have used over the years and have been taken from a variety of sources. Enjoy!
OU Improv!
Currently, I am working with the OU Improv! troupe, coaching and teaching them on long-form improv. Here is their website, and I am listed here. This picture was taken at our recent election night show aptly called 'Vote 04 Laughs'!
Here is their webpage, which includes my weekly improv column, entitled
Coaches Corner with Niigon!
Kelvin "Hot Stuff" Improv Team

While at Ecole Kelvin, I coached the 'Hot Stuff' Improv Team, which was twice provincial champion, and finished in the top ten both times in Canada at the Canadian Improv Games in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (pic to the right!). For more information on the Canadian Improv Games (CIGs) check out www.improv.ca. The 'Hot Stuff' team continues, and is now coached by alumni and my colleague Jennifer Cuddy, who is doing a fabulous job way up 'back home'. The link for news on the team and show times is: www.wsd1.org/kelvin. Here is a picture from the 2002-2003 Provincial Champion Team...
