Peer Critique for Interview

Before you start, have your partner explain verbally what objectives he/she is trying to obtain from this interview. Read through your peer’s questions once, then read back through them and answer the following questions:

1.      What is the purpose of this interview in the author’s words?  How do you know this from the questions that are being asked?  Give a specific example from the interview draft to back up your answer.

2.      Underline any closed-ended questions.  Do you think the questions are relevant/useful to the interview?  Why/why not?

3.      If this were your interview, what one content change would you make?  Why?

4.      How can these questions achieve the interviewer’s goal (which they stated at the beginning) in their research?  Can you mention any alternative questions that could be asked which would achieve this goal?

5.      If you were the person being interviewed, what would your general impression be about the questions you’ve been asked?  Would the questions seem relevant? Professional?  Interesting? Give specific examples from the interview draft to back up your answers.
