Hello, my name is Valland Sage.  I am a Navajo from Mesa, Arizona.  My name comes merely from the fact that I was born the day after Valentine's Day.  I am the second oldest of 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

I love my culture.   My mother and step-dad relocated our family to the Phoenix area when I was two years old for the better job opportunities and so that my siblings and I could have a better education than what the reservation had to offer.  Fortunately, I did not lose touch with my Navajo culture because my mother taught me and my siblings a lot about Navajo traditions.  I can read and write in my native tongue, as well as speak and understand a majority of it.  Growing up in the city and still learning the ways of my ancestors has turned me into the person I am today.  I am very thankful to my mother for giving me the best of both worlds.

My new pastime is shopping online.  I love to shop at American Eagle Outfitters.  The jean selection is amazing and I love how comfortable they are.
Besides shopping (I'm really not a shopaholic), I enjoy hanging out with my roommates and sorority sisters.

I like to veg out in front of the TV and watch Reba, One Tree Hill, 90210, and Private Practice.  The Food Network is another favorite of mine, but I doubt I'll ever cook up a storm like Paula Dean.  As for out of the house, volleyball, basketball, and running keep me fit after all those hours in front of a computer or TV.  I like hugs and kisses (preferably from people I know), chocolate covered strawberries, pajamas, football games, rain, back rubs, and food!
