I Came as The End
The Final Story: Kalki

Februum 15th 400,000 AD
Village Square- Ayodhoya
The Vagrant stood up and
looked at the crowd of millions who had now gathered to hear his
words. Image screens all over the planet displayed his likeness. No one
could explain the power that was drawing them all to his face.
At the moment they all watched
and held their breath. The four divine instruments of Vishnu- the
conch, the chakra, the mace and the lotus-floated off the ground and
circled in front of the Vagrant. He closed his eyes and standing before
all, was Vishnu. The supreme being held each instrument in his
four arms and stood before the world.
But only for a moment.
The crowd did not know what to
think. At the end of the Kali Yuga, no one knows of God, or of any
spiritual reality. All at once they saw and knew that they had missed
out on everything. Many wept, some were angry, others were too numb to
feel any emotion at all. Vishnu disappeared in a bright light and was
gone. In his place was the Vagrant, but he was no longer dressed as a
hobo. He was wearing a long white robe, and he was perfectly groomed.
Behind him on a rope was a beautiful white stallion in golden armor,
that snorted and pawed at the ground. Then the figure spoke with
a terrifying voice that shook the sternum of everyone in the world.
"You have
all forgotten the ways of the gods. You have heard my story and that is
my gift to you all before I end the world. I am Kalki, the final avatar
of Vishnu, the final story. I have come here as The End of all things.
To reboot this program and reset it to a pure state of being. Give
thanks and take solace that you were present to this glorious event and
that you will be the first to be reborn as pure souls in a new world.
But now it is time to close your lives."

" I am become death; I am the
destroyer of worlds."
The people of the world
screamed and cried and pleaded for forgiveness. The evil began to
scheme and plan for their survival and scramble for their wealth. They
would be the last to die. The most innocent, the women and the children
would be spared the agony of death. Kalki put his fingers to his lips
and they all turned to smoke instantly, feeling no pain. All of the
buildings of man crumbled and turned to dust as Kalki clenched his
fist. millions were buried under them.
"None will be saved! This is
the
end complete. Remember who you have been. Remember what you have left
behind."
Kalki walked with his horse
and the ground behind him split and fell to the core of the earth.
People were crushed by rocks and fell into bottomless pits. Those Kalki
pitied, he exploded with a blink. The sky was crimson but the air was
black. The moon crumbled and fell to the earth, creating explosions and
craters. Kalki mounted his horse and held his sword in the air. He
yelled a great yell and swung his sword in a dance. All of the evil
people in the world were decapitated and exploded. Mars and Venus went
black and the sun were dim. One by one every light in the universe was
snuffed out.
All of the Devas and Asuras
gathered around, surrounding Kalki. Brahma and Shiva stood on either
the
side of Kalki and they all held hands. Kalki dismounted and spoke
to them. "My friends, we too must die. We have been through so much and
I cannot wait to do it all over again! Brahman, the infinite, the
unending, will see to it that this world restarts. I love you all
and will see you again soon. Goodnight and good luck. "
And with that,
The End Complete
Author's Note: Whew, that was
hardcore. So the ending "And with that," the blackness is
supposed to symbolize nothingness, in case anybody was lost. I
liked writing about Kalki because it hasn't happened yet, so I figured
I
couldn't go wrong. I got the main points from the prophecy that tells
of his coming. I changed the original story, since the good people are
supposed to live through the destruction of everything which just
doesn't make sense. If God was going to put an end to the world and
restart the events of Time, I don't think anyone would really be
spared. I thought it was much more epic that way. Plus, if the
world was so bad and needed to be restarted, there wouldn't really be
any good people. At least not purely good like in the Satya Yuga.
The part where he says: "This is the end complete. Remember.." Is from
a Coheed and Cambria song about the destruction of everything so I
thought it would be appropriate to use that. The quote: "I am
become death. The destoryer of worlds" is from Robert Oppenheimer
describing the destructive power of the atom bomb. Since the end of the
world
takes place 432,000 years after 3102 BCE, I figured they might not be
using the Gregorian calender names anymore. Ironically Februum is
where February comes from, and it means purification, and was, in Roman
times, the last month of the year. I hope you enjoyed the final chapter
of my storybook!
