Calliope Looks Back

nativeamericansymbol

It has been many years since that day I spent time with Sedna in the icy waters.  A lot of life has happened and I have faced it head on.

I married Omelak.  Sedna helped me realize that I could not keep letting my fears control my actions.

We have lived a long and happy life together.  I often think back to Sirentetta.  I am eternally thankful to her for saving me from certain death that day.  She saw something in me that I did not.  I was ready to call it quits and she did not let me.

I have accomplished many tasks in my life that have been difficult, but Mary Anne is my mantra during difficult and challenging situations.  She sailed the seas, fought in wars and experienced many injuries, all while keeping up a male facade.

Omelak’s sense of adventure is wonderful.  The experiences we have had through the years have been amazing.  I thank Anne and Mary for instilling in me an appreciation for the adventures life offers up.

Of course, even though I have lived my life with a different approach, there have been tough times.  I have had to calm anger that arises in me.  I find, like Scylla did, that when I calm, life looks different.

As a young and hopeless girl, I could not imagine myself at this time of my life.  I did not see a future for me.

Now, I am a seasoned woman who has many amazing women to thank.
