As
Hindbad woke up from his wonderful and exciting dream he couldn’t wait
to hear about another one of Sindbad’s voyages. A few hours after
doing some chores, and getting a meal Hindbad went over to Sindbad’s
palace to hear another one of his stories. Right after Sindbad
finished the story the whole crowd roared with cheers. Hindbad
couldn’t wait to get back home and sleep because he knew that a
magnificent dream full of adventures, terror and excitement was
awaiting him.
As
he slowly went to sleep his dream began as he had hoped. He and
Sindbad were on a boat sailing away from Baghdad. The boat was
beautiful and they had a great crew of merchants and sailors blessing
their voyage. The sailed from island to island and met all sorts
of different people and got a good grasp of what life was like outside
of Baghdad. As they sailed into another island, it seemed to be
abandoned. There wasn’t a port, or dock and there wasn’t any sign
of human life. The whole crew got out to check out the island,
Hindbad and Sindbad separated themselves to explore more of the
countryside. As the day wore on they both decided to get some
rest and take a quick nap so they could have energy to continue on with
their voyage. Unfortunately they both sleep for 5 hours and their
crew was nowhere to be found.
“Where
are they?” said Hindbad frightingly.
“I’m
not really sure.” Replied Sindbad. “I think they might have left
us.”
Instead
of panicking, Hindbad decided that they both should try to look around
the island for their crew in hopes that maybe they were surrounding the
island exploring some more. They both were walking along and
Hindbad spotted a massive gold pond just in the distance. As they
got closer to the pond, the aroma was magnificent, so good that they
decided to drink it, and get a taste for themselves. They were
both expecting water, but what they got was the most delicious gulp of
honey that they have ever had. The honey was so enjoyable that
the thought of where it might have been produced never crossed their
minds. As they were sitting on the edge of the pond, sipping the
honey a loud buzzing noise started to come in from the west. It
never clued into Hindbad that this pond of honey might be the product
of the swarm of the most dangerous human killing bees that the world
has ever seen, and in the distance all of the bees were coming to kill
them.
They
ran as fast as they possible could, the bees kept getting closer and
closer. Running as fast as humanly possible, they reached a
little valley where there was a beautiful display of gold.
Hindbad and Sindbad had both heard about this, and they knew that if
they could get their hands on the gold, that they would both be wealthy
forever. This was not the case for this day. As they jumped
down into the valley and started to collect the gold, snakes from all
different directions started to slither around them. Thousands of
hissing noises were surrounding the two, and they both knew that their
luck of escaping danger had a good possibility of coming to an
end.
Snakes
started to make their way up the bodies of Hindbad and Sindbad. A
massive python was wrapping itself all around Hindbad, making it
difficult to breath. As the python reached Hindbad’s head, it
looked Hindbad directly in the eye. It was like he wanted to see
his prey before he decided to kill it, and it the blink of an eye the
massive snake took a big snap at Hindbad, swallowing him whole.
Violently Hindbad woke up from this terrible nightmare. His be
was soaked in sweat, he was so scared that he couldn’t go back to sleep
for the rest of the night. Although this frightening dream was
horrific, he still couldn’t wait for the next night for another
adventure.
Author’s Note: I retold the Second Voyage from Sindbad. The
story line is pretty much the same, but I decided to change a few
things. In the original story Sindbad was alone on the island by
himself, but since this is Hindbad’s dream I decided to include him on
it too. During Sindbad’s voyage he spots a large white object
from far away, that eventually end’s up being a white egg. For my
story Hindbad spots a large golden object from far away that looks like
a golden pond, as they get close it ends up being a pond of
honey. The next change is the killer bees. In the original
story it was a roc bird that came to protect its egg, but in my story
it’s a bunch of killer bees coming to save their honey. Both
Hindbad and Sindbad escape the bees, as they escape they see
gold. In the original story Sindbad is flown from one island to
the next, and then sees a valley full of diamonds rather than
gold. The snakes are in both the original story, and in my
story. But I decided to end the dream in the ultimate climax.
Right as Hindbad was eaten by the snake, he woke up from the horrifying
dream.
