    Story

It was in 1995. I began my research on Condensed Matter Physics at the Structure Research Laboratory, University of Science and Technology of China / Academia Sinica. A lot of my jobs needed to be timed. Thus I developed an idea to program an alarm clock that could pop up a message box on time while I play with other softwares. I made it out with the Microsoft Visual Basic. Of course, at that time it also had the basic functions for a clock - displaying time and date.

Exactly one year later, I turned to Windows 95 and entirely changed its appearance. In addition to adding more functions such as changing system time, date and showing distance between two days, I made a build-in "help" for it. The alarm function was also modified.

In May 1997, before I prepared for my departure for the US, I realized that my clock should have another useful ability to tell me the local time for different cities around the world. Then it came out and worked pretty well.

After I came here, I made it adopt to the daylight savings in the US.
