The Capital City of Curaçao is Willemstad.  It is separated by a water way called the Saint Anna Bay and divided into two sections...Punda (the point) and Otrabanda (the other side).

Across Waterway

Picture taken from the Otrabanda side of the Punda side.  The vast stretch of water inbetween is Saint Anna Bay.

Punda

Queen Emma Bridge rotating out to reconnect the two sides.  Its a floating wooden bridge that opens to let boats pass.  When the bridge is closed you can take the ferry for free.

Punda

Customs in Punda...and a nice sail boat.

Punda

More of Punda from Otrabanda...waiting for the bridge to connect.

Otrabanda

Otrabanda

I realize that I took many pictures waiting for the bridge to connect but none once I crossed over into Punda. So...sorry you only get to see Otrabanda up close and Punda from across the water.

Rif Fort

This is one entrance to Rif Fort which is a renovated Fort which is now home to some really nice shops and restaurants.  Still on the Otrabanda side.

Same entrance

Inside the fort

Rif Fort

Old Fort steps that take you up to observation places and nice restaurants.  There were three levels within the whole place.

Rif Fort

Really good view from the Fort wall down inside

From the Fort wall across the bay to the Punda side...this is the opening of the bay into the Caribbean

Punda

Punda

And another....

Punda

I must have really wanted to catch this shot...

On my way out of the Fort from the other side.
