Module Two - Books
Citing Books in Chicago Style
As my brother Giuseppe always said, “Books are like pizza sauce; sometimes sweet, sometimes thick, but Friday night wouldn’t be the same without them.”
So, when you’re citing your books, you’ve got to be careful, no? They are valuable and important and should be treated that way.
In the Chicago manual, books can be found in section 17.16 through 17.147. There are many different types of books you could cite – translated books, parts of books, different editions of the same book, books published by companies, anonymously, or by twenty authors. In the Chicago manual, they cover all these many (and believe me, there are MANY) different kinds of books you might cite. The chapter and section numbers of each required element follows the description.
